Dr. Tim McMullan, DVM
Managing DVM
Opened Pinnacle Animal Hospital in 2012
Professional Stats: Dr. McMullan graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2001
Professional Interests: Surgery, Dentistry
How did you wind up in the veterinary field? It was something he always wanted to do, and in his mid-twenties, he decided that life’s too short to not chase your dreams.
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Great medical care for our patients, with a side of compassion for our clients.
Personal Stats: Dr. McMullan is married; they share two great young men. They share their home with two beagles (Winchester and Duncan), a lab (D-Weasel), and three cats (Dakota, Hopscotch, and Petey Pants).
Personal Interests: When not chasing the Mountain Goats (the band, NOT the animal), he enjoys biking (both mountain and gravel) and hiking, especially when he can get out west.
Fun fact/s: Dr. McMullan cooked professionally prior to getting into veterinary medicine.
Dr. J, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Has been with PAH since 2024
Professional Stats: Dr. J completed her undergraduate and veterinary degrees at NC State University with a special focus in internal medicine, dentistry and dermatology.
How did you wind up in the veterinary field? From an early age, Dr. Jiamachello discovered a deep-seated passion in animals which has fueled the commitment to their well-being and happiness.
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Dr. Jiamachello is a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian whose love for animals has been the driving force behind a fulfilling career in veterinary medicine. Having served as a relief doctor for five years and an associate for two, Dr. J brings a wealth of experience and adaptability to the veterinary field. These experiences have allowed for exposure to diverse practice settings, fostering a well-rounded approach to patient care. Starting as a relief doctor with Pinnacle Animal Hospital, her prior experience with our team ensures continuity of care through her transition into the associate role.
Personal Stats: Dr. J and her family reside in Asheville, NC.
Personal Interests: Dr. J and her family spend their time going on neighborhood walks with their family dogs, biking & hiking around the Blue Ridge mountains, and playing sand volleyball recreationally.
Katie
Head RVT
Has been with PAH since 2013
Professional Stats: Katie is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She graduated from AB Tech in 2013 and did her externship at Pinnacle and has been here since.
Professional Interests: Anesthesia, small furry friends, and everything related to canine medicine.
How did you wind up in the veterinary field? She started working at BWAR in 2009 and really felt she had found her place in caring for animals. She had a coworker who was in the vet tech program at AB Tech and showed Katie some things and she decided to give it a shot.
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Katie hopes to bring a personal experience to our clients, she takes pride in remembering patients and clients. She hopes to keep the medicine we practice currently as she loves to learn new things and discuss new ideas with the doctors, and she hopes to continue offering top-notch cuddles to our patients at every visit.
Personal Stats: Katie was born and raised just outside of Asheville. She is married and they have a daughter. They live in Marshall and have a dog, a house rabbit, 7 chickens, and a pot-bellied pig.
Personal Interests: Katie enjoys walking their dog, spending time with family, and hanging out with her pig. She enjoys lots of different kinds of music and outdoor concerts around town in the summer.
Stephanie
Practice Manager
Has been with PAH since the very beginning of 2012!
Professional Stats: Associate’s Degree in Applied Science, Sound Arts. Currently working towards her CVPM (Certified Veterinary Practice Manager)
Personal Interests: Her interests at work are client care and client education.
How did you wind up in the veterinary field? She worked in the financial field for almost a decade, and when she moved here, she was able to look at other interests. Upon seeing the advertisement for a receptionist prior to the PAH opening, she knew that this was her calling. Growing up with a dog, and having had pet rats in middle and high school she’s always had a love of animals.
What do you hope to bring to PAH? At work, she hopes to bring kindness and compassion to our clients and their pets.
Personal Stats: She lives with her son, Declan who is 10 years old. They share their home with 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 pond Koi, and a number of pond Goldfish (they keep reproducing!). Isla and Thor are brother and sister and were a gift for Declan’s 5th birthday, they are Border Collie mixes and love to run around in the backyard or snuggle on the couch. Reese (13 years old) and Aidan (11 years old) are both orange tabbies – she’s a sucker for an orange tabby.
Personal Interests: Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with Declan and our pets. She loves to bake, read, watch movies, spend time with friends, and watch sports.
Fun fact: She’s a Midwestern/Californian.
Heather
Assistant
Has been with PAH since 2014
Professional Stats: Heather is a current student with Penn Foster working to obtain her RVT
Professional Interests: Exotics, helping owners find solutions for pets with anxiety
How did you wind up in the veterinary field? Heather always knew she wanted to work with animals. She became a groomer shortly after graduating high school but realized she wanted to do something more to help keep animals happy and healthy
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Heather brings a steady, calming demeanor to pets and their owners.
Personal Stats: Heather has had a variety of animals but currently only has two dogs (Cheyenne, an Australian Cattle Dog, and Ozzy, a standard Poodle), two cats (Reggie, the farm cat, and Ducky, a sweet one-eyed indoor cat), a potbellied pig (Piggie Smalls), a Sulcata Tortoise (Littlefoot), and a bearded dragon (Falkor). She also had ducks, chickens, goats, pigs, turkeys, and a menagerie of snakes.
Personal Interests: Heather grew up outside of Charleston and being outside near water (river or ocean) with her dogs is her happy place. She also loves live music, especially reggae and country. When she can find the time, she enjoys a variety of crafts.
Fun fact/s: Pigs and manatees are her favorite animals
Amy
Registered Veterinary Technician
Has been with PAH since 2016
Professional Stats: Amy graduated from AB Tech’s vet tech program in 2016, did her internship at Pinnacle, and was hired after completing it.
Professional Interests: She has a special interest in and a deep love of geriatric patients. It is an honor to give them the extra care and nurturing they typically need and deserve. She also has a soft spot for golden retrievers!
How did you wind up in the veterinary field? Amy always wanted to work with animals and made her way into the field after taking different paths along the road of self-discovery.
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Amy strives to make patients and people feel supported, comfortable, validated, and cared for at Pinnacle.
Personal Stats: Amy lives with her partner Rob, his pit/husky mix named Bruce, and her old tabby cat named Layla aka Monkey.
Personal Interests: Amy loves thrifting, crafting, collecting little things, spending time with friends, and learning about history.
Fun fact: She has a vast collection of antique medicine bottles and is always on the lookout for more while out antiquing.
Mariah
Client Services Representative
Has been with PAH since 2023
Profession Stats: 1 year of kennel care & 1 year of animal medical care (vet assistant), 2 years of working with an animal rescue, and over 7 years of customer service
Professional Interests: Providing excellent care for pets and their parents.
How did I wind up in vet field? I’ve always been an animal person. I’ve always wanted to be in this field.
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Happiness, laughs, good conversation, good jokes!! Open arms (I thrive on making people feel comfortable around me).
Personal stats: husband of 14 years, 3 kiddos, 2 dogs, 1 goat (currently, we are going to get more goats and get back to chicken farming again really soon)
Personal Interests: I enjoy getting lost in the woods with my family and exploring. I enjoy drawing, painting, wood burning, building, farming and gardening.
Fun facts: My family and I lived off grid for 3 years on a school bus that we converted into an RV.
Also, at my last job, I was known as the feral cat wrangler. If I couldn’t catch it, no one could!
Aubrey
Registered Veterinary Technician
Has been with PAH since 2017
Professional Stats: Aubrey graduated from AB Tech in July 2017. She did her externship with us prior to her graduation and we were fortunate to have her join our team in August of that same year.
Professional interests: Dentistry and educating clients on their furry friends.
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Aubrey hopes to bring exceptional care and love to all of your pets and will always try to put your pets first.
How did you wind up in the veterinary field? Aubrey has loved animals her whole life and will continue to do so. As a young girl, she dreamed of being in the veterinary field. When she finally got the chance, she did so and graduated from AB Tech in 2017.
Personal Stats: Aubrey is native to WNC, having been born and raised in the Asheville area. She and her husband Josh have a chihuahua mix named Marlin, an orange tabby named Oliver, a leopard gecko Treecko, fish, and rats.
Personal Interests: She enjoys running, hiking, horseback riding, singing, and walking with Marlin.
Fun fact: She is the queen of intubating cats.
Katie D
Assistant
Has been with PAH since 2017
Professional Stats: Katie attended Concordia University in Austin (for Environmental Science and Voice), Lees McRae College for Wildlife Rehab
Professional Interest: Pocket pets and exotic husbandry
How did you wind up in the vet field: As a child, Katie owned every small animal possible (specifically rodents). As she got older, she began volunteering at a local animal shelter and then began working at pet stores as a small animal specialist throughout high-school and college. Veterinary medicine seemed like the next logical step.
What do you hope to bring to PAH: Katie loves teaching and educating clients on pocket pet enrichment and exotic animal husbandry.
Personal Stats: Katie owns Carl, the former clinic cat (a temperamental tabby), and also Andy (an extra naughty adventure cat who wandered into a brewery on karaoke night as a kitten). She also has Pete, the house gecko, and a tropical fish tank.
Personal Interests: Singing whenever and wherever an opportunity arises. You can catch her belting it out at karaoke nights around downtown. She also has over 60 house plants that she cares for.
Fun facts: Katie is a horror movie aficionado and tries to see every horror movie that comes out in the theater.
Bree
Client Services Representative
Has been with PAH since 2024
Profession Stats: She took some courses at College at North Texas Community College
Professional Interests: Pocket pets, specifically Ferrets!
How did I wind up in vet field? Bree always felt a kindred connection with animals of all types and knew that someday her career would land in that direction. She loves feeling like she makes a difference every day by being there for those in need.
What do you hope to bring to PAH? A warm, welcoming, and friendly environment that makes both pets and their people feel at home.
Personal stats: Bree enjoys her little family of two cats (Jetson and Tombo), and a Chihuahua (Gatsby) that she inherited from her brother. There are plans in the future to adopt ferrets, of course. Many, many ferrets.
Personal Interests: She has a soft spot for food and trying new cuisines/restaurants. She also enjoys knitting, movies, traveling, photography, and the occasional video games.
Fun facts: When she was 8, she was hit by a car and is now double-jointed in her elbow!
Alexis
Client Services Representative
Has been with PAH since 2023
Profession Stats: Alexis worked her way up from an associate to shift manager to assistant manager to store manager between two large corporate pet stores by the age of just 22!
Professional Interests: Pet nutrition, reptile husbandry/care, pet product knowledge
How did I wind up in vet field? Alexis worked up through pet retail management and found that it was no longer for her. She wanted to be in an environment that completely revolved around pets and their parent – not focused on sales goals, competition, etc. Getting into the veterinary field has always been a dream of hers.
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Alexis hopes to bring joy, light and positivity!
Personal stats: Alexis and her husband Luke (an APD officer) share five cats (Sugar Plum, Fig, Matilda, Kenji and Juniper), two lizards (Barnaby Ackley the Merauke/Irian Jaya blue tongue skink and Naomi the crested gecko), and three fish tanks!
Personal Interests: Painting, jewelry making, roller skating, collecting crystals & other oddities.
Fun facts: Alexis has an extensive collection of oddities, crystals and minerals from all around the world
Jemmy
Assistant
Has been with PAH since 2021
Professional Stats: They have a joy of learning and attended Eastern Mennonite University, where they obtained a degree in Environmental Science, and James Madison University, where they obtained a degree in Graphic Design.
Professional Interests: Surgery, Dental Hygiene, acute care
How did you wind up in the veterinary field? The recession of 2008 and very specific skill set (Jemmy is uncomfortable with the mortifying ordeal of being known. Raised by a pack of Labradors and bench-leg beagles, their compassion for animals was fostered from a young age. Like many elusive cryptids and other introverts, Jemmy arrived in veterinary medicine because of a love of animals and compassion for the people who love them too.)
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Sense of humor (Due to their sheer size (1200 kg of muscle and bone), they find themselves carrying animals and helping them onto exam tables here at PAH.)
Personal Stats: has a library card and a rock collection (They share their lair with myriad creatures such as Paul the bearded dragon, a mischief of rats, and many semi-domesticated bugs.)
Personal Interests: Moss
Fun fact/s: last sighted in the Blue Ridge mountains fading into the mist (They are partially photosynthetic, so time basking in sunshine and partaking in advanced soil rituals is essential to their well-being.)
Taylor
Head CSR
Has been with PAH since 2022
Professional Stats: Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology from SUNY ESF/Syracuse University, graduated 2014

How did you wind up in the veterinary field? Love of animals + talent for customer service = veterinary CSR
What do you hope to bring to PAH? Professionalism, going the extra mile to ensure clients feel listened to, valued, and are trusting of their pet’s care in our hands.
Personal Stats: Taylor and her husband TJ share their home with three cats (Marley, Luna & Rory), a German Shorthaired Pointer (Ash), and in the paddock live her horse, Dream, and rescue pony, Merry Legs
Personal Interests: Outside of work, Taylor enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, horseback riding, and gardening.
Fun fact/s: She and TJ were married in Ireland!
